Family medicine providers are trained to diagnose and treat illnesses, but they also help your family stay healthy in the first place. Preventative care is an important part of what they do, including routine checkups, blood work, and necessary screenings. Research shows that people who have an ongoing relationship with a primary care provider (PCP) have better overall health outcomes and lower total costs of care. That's why Family Medicine is our biggest specialty: Taking care of your whole family with locations across the state.

  • Bring them your health concerns for years (or decades!) No one likes seeing a new doctor for a concerning or embarrassing issue. When you find a PCP you like, you can stick with them for years as they oversee your health.
  • Family Medicine providers are your starting place if you need to see a specialist. To visit certain specialists, you may need to be referred. Your PCP assesses complex health problems and helps you find the next step toward treatment.

Can I afford a PCP? Annual physicals are fully covered by all major insurances. Sick visits with a PCP have a lower copay than going to the ER. Since there’s a strong emphasis in catching problems as early as possible, having a PCP could save your family money in early detection!
