Dr. Hammond is a Utah native who graduated from BYU. He moved to California to complete medical school at Western University of Health Sciences. After completing his internship in internal medicine in Connecticut he went on to complete his neurology residency training at Northwestern University in Chicago and then stayed for additional training in Sleep Medicine, there completing a fellowship program. Dr. Hammond is dual board-certified in Neurology and Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Hammond and his Sleep Lab are certified by the Accreditation Commission for Healthcare (ACHC). ACHC provides a patient-focused approach to Sleep Accreditation with principles that were developed by professionals to ensure relevant and realistic standards. Since fellowship completion, Dr. Hammond has been in practice with Ogden Clinic, ongoing for more than a decade. In and out of the clinic, Dr. Hammond has participated as medical director for various community and hospital programs, including vascular (acute stroke management), rehabilitation, and sleep centers. Medical research is ongoing at the Ogden Clinic with attention to multiple sclerosis, disease understanding, and advancing therapeutic options.
